1. Outline the Block: Purchase a "Jumbo Vinyl Siding Mounting Block" (which has built‑in J‑channels to divert water). Trace its outline onto the siding, centered directly over a wall stud.
2. Cut the Siding: Carefully cut along the traced lines using a utility knife or oscillating multi‑tool. Remove the cut‑out piece of vinyl.
3. Flash for Waterproofing**: Apply flashing tape or exterior‑grade silicone caulk over the exposed house wrap to prevent water from seeping into the sheathing.
